#LockdownLife | Working from Home - The Journals | West Country Wedding Planner
I hope you enjoyed the first instalment of my ‘Working from Home - The Journals’. I’ve had such great feedback and so many requests to be featured, don’t forget if you’re interested in telling your lockdown story to drop me a message at lottie.dainton@gmail.com.
Today I’ve got the lovely Gemma of West Country Wedding Planner on the blog talking all about her #LockdownLife. Gemma and Abie of WCWP plan the most beautiful weddings across the South West - from coastal to countryside. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with these guys for over a year now (wow, time flies) managing their Instagram account and it’s been an absolute pleasure seeing all of the stunning celebrations they plan. Marquees, tipis, country houses, seaside settings - you name it, they can plan it!
Anyway, let’s get stuck in. Without further ado, here is Gemma’s lockdown experience…
1 So, let’s talk about life in lockdown. What time do you get up? What’s your morning routine? Has this changed since working from home / being in lockdown?
I’ve always been a night owl as i’m used to staying up late and doing events and that’s when I do most of my work, so I don’t function before 7am. I always wake at 7:30/8am and this hasn’t changed. As soon as I wake I have a cuppa and check my emails.
2 How do you remain motivated while working from home?
I’ve always been motivated, I get up go for a run and then either work, do DIY, go for a walk. I always have an end goal and keep working towards it, nothing will get in our way. Being adaptable and making a plan is what makes us good wedding planners
3 Do you listen to any podcasts while working from home?
Russel Brand is the only one!
4 Lockdown has impacted businesses all over the world. How can people support you? E.g. #ShopSmallBusiness, sharing a post on FB, commenting on an Instagram post etc.
Comment on and share our work!
5 Tell me one local business that you’ve decided to support during lockdown. It could be your local coffee shop, someone who hand-makes masks etc.
My new favourite vegan cafe on the quay, Veg Box, i’ve also been supporting our caterers and sending food boxes to friends and family I can’t see.
