1 So, let’s talk about life in lockdown. What time do you get up? What’s your morning routine? Has this changed since working from home / being in lockdown?
My morning routine has changed so much from the first lockdown. I used to get up at 6 am every morning and go a walk but this lockdown, I take it much slower in the mornings. I get up around 7am before everyone else and go downstairs. I have a little morning ritual of starting my day with gratitude, so I light a candle and write in my journal. I only started this in January but I can't believe the difference it's made to my mindset. It's been such a help , especially now when I need it most.
2 How do you remain motivated while working from home?
Ok so this can be tough but I'm usually a very motivated person. I have alot of energy creatively and physically and I never really sit down. I find structuring my week and scheduling my days really helps ! If I feel my motivation slip a little, I just try and keep going with my to do list and don't allow myself to get distracted.
3 Do you listen to any podcasts while working from home?
Yes every single day. I love podcasts & tend to listen to inspirational podcasts like the Second Chance podcast or sometimes Boss Babe if I need a little business strategy inspiration!
4 Lockdown has impacted businesses all over the world. How can people support you? E.g. #ShopSmallBusiness, sharing a post on FB, commenting on an Instagram post etc.
Interacting with social media posts really helps small businesses like mines. The more interaction , the further the reach so I really appreciate it when bride's or other wedding creatives really support me in this way.
I love it when bride's share their wedding images with me as this helps inspire other brides & share real stories.
5 Tell me one local business that you’ve decided to support during lockdown. It could be your local coffee shop, someone who hand-makes masks etc.
I love supporting local and supporting handmade businesses in general. I recently purchased a gorgeous handmade baby blanket from Isla & Fraser , they are such an incredible small business!
6 Tell me your favourite isolation cocktail / snack / treat?
Ive really enjoyed a little Friday night cocktail during lockdown! Espresso Martini or a glass of Rose wine does the trick for me!
7 What’s your go-to ‘pick me up’ during lockdown life / working from home?
For me, it's getting outside in the fresh air! Taking the break and going for a walk instantly makes me feel better. I love that feeling of coming in from a long walk, the house feels welcoming again and you realise how much you needed it!
8 How are you keeping in touch with friends and family?
I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of zoom so it's phonecalls & texting for me. I speak to my mum every day and what app my sister's and friends.
9 Name one lockdown pet peeve
The repetitiveness of every day. It is so hard to break that mundane feeling as it just feels like the same day on repeat Monday- Sunday!
10 Name one lockdown love
I've loved that the pace of my life has slowed down dramatically. There is no more rushing around as we have nowhere to be rushing too and the time with my children is one that I know I'll look back on and truly appreciate!
11 What do you have in store for your business? What’s got you feeling inspired?
Oh, I love this question! I have so much coming this year, I'm in the middle of a brand refresh which is very exciting! I plan on launching a capsule collection of daywear accessories for my brides and Im always dreaming up of new designs to add to my bridal collection! I just released a new collection of accessories in January and it's been so well received which I'm so grateful for!
12 What’s one thing you want to do after lockdown restrictions are lifted?
Go to my mum's house for a cup of tea! That would make me really happy.
13 What has been your favourite Netflix series to binge on during lockdown?
I haven't seen too much on Netflix to be honest but the two I did watch I loved, which was the Queen's Gambit and Bridgerton!!
14 Are there any books on your shelf you’d recommend reading during lockdown?
An easy read and my go to book for inspiration is Oprah's 'What I know for sure'. I've also enjoyed reading Studio & Magees story of creating their interior design business! I love reading about people's lives and how they grow their businesses!
15 What will you take from lockdown? Is there anything you’re grateful for or that you’ll do differently going forward?
I'm grateful for my health, the saying 'your health is your wealth ' is the absolute truth!
16 Describe lockdown for you in three words. (E.g. life-changing, emotional, challenging).
It's been emotional, intense and unforgettable (for obvious reasons)!
Immerse yourself in alllllll the wedding pretty over on Megan’s Instagram!
